Kenton is proud to support a variety of charities with links to Nepal, mountaineering, or climbing.

Some brief details of these charities are included below.

The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides vital support to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities in Nepal. They enable people to live with dignity by delivering essential financial and medical aid and work with local communities to provide access to clean water and education. They operate through 19 Area Welfare Centres spread across traditional Gurkha recruiting areas in Nepal, as well as one in India. They have over 500 staff working in the region.

Kenton is proud to be an Ambassador of the Gurkha Welfare Trust, working alongside them to support events and promote their work.

Founded in 1955, the Mount Everest Foundation (MEF) funds exploratory scientific and mountaineering expeditions across the globe. The MEF has provided support to some of the most significant mountaineering and scientific expeditions of the last century. First ascents and new routes on the highest summits, such as Everest, Kangchenjunga, Annapurna, Nanga Parbat, Nuptse and Kongur, as well as lower technical peaks such as Baintha Brakk (the Ogre), Changabang, Spantik, and Nyanchen Tanglha Southeast, have all seen financial backing from the MEF.

Kenton sits on the MEF Management Committee, assessing grant applications and supporting the next generaion of climbers.

The mission of the Juniper Fund is to support and empower families and communities impacted by the loss of Himalayan high-altitude workers.  While the mountain climbing and expedition industry employs countless local guides and labourers to support visiting climbers in the goals that they seek, the reality is that this work is fraught with danger and sometimes lives are lost. Unfortunately local governments are inadequately resourced to insure against this and families are left with no source of income.

Kenton supports the Juniper Fund to raise funds and support families who have lost a loved one in a mountainteering tragedy.

Through the worldwide climbing community, Climbers Against Cancer aims to increase awareness and raise funds for research in the continued fight against cancer, a diseases that affects so many. They sell brightly coloured t-shirts, hoodies, and underwear as well as some climbing accessories. All monies raised by CAC go directly to cancer research facilities around the world.

Kenton was a friend of John Ellison, the Founder of CAC, and he remembers him very fondly. You will undoubtedly spot Kenton wearing CAC clothing quite regularly on his social media feeds!

dZi partners with communities in Nepal to achieve shared prosperity by ensuring access to basic needs, catalyzing inclusive economic growth, and creating an environment for lasting change. Today, dZi serves over 45,000 people in a network of 13 villages in the Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, and Khotang districts of eastern Nepal.

Kenton is an Ambassador for dZi and really enjoys supporting their work in a region of the world that he refers to as his ‘second home’.

The Himalayan Trust UK has been working since 1989 to help the mountain people of Nepal. They strive to improve health and education standards in the mountainous region of Northeastern Nepal, particularly the Taplejung region.

In the last 20 years, they have provided training for 750 teachers, which has improved the quality of around six million lessons, benefitting the education of 25,000 school children.
